Course Overview
The BSc (Hons) Psychology with Foundation Year programme provides an excellent introduction to the study of human behaviour and mental processes, while equipping students with the skills needed to progress confidently into the full undergraduate degree. This pathway is ideal for students who may not meet the traditional entry requirements or who wish to strengthen their academic foundation before beginning the main degree.
The Foundation Year offers an understanding of the core concepts within the social sciences, helping students to develop essential study and research skills that support successful progression into higher-level study. Through a combination of theoretical and applied learning, students will explore the principles of psychology and their real-world applications across diverse fields such as healthcare, education, and social justice.
As the course progresses into the main degree, students will study a range of core psychological disciplines including cognitive, biological, and developmental psychology, as well as advanced research methods. They will also have the opportunity to explore specialist areas such as cyberpsychology, behaviour change, and mindfulness-based practice.
