Course Overview
The BSc (Hons) Cyber Security with Foundation Year is designed for students who are passionate about technology and aspire to build a rewarding career in the ever-evolving field of cyber security. This course equips students with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills necessary to identify, prevent, and manage cyber threats that affect individuals, organisations, and governments.
Delivered in partnership between QA Higher Education and Solent University, this programme offers a strong foundation year to prepare students for undergraduate-level study in computing and cyber security. Throughout the course, students will gain a thorough understanding of network systems, data protection, ethical hacking, and security protocols.
In response to the growing need for qualified professionals, this programme provides both academic excellence and industry-recognised certifications, such as the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) “Introduction to Networks.” Students will develop practical skills, critical thinking, and technical expertise to meet the demands of the modern digital landscape.

Applicants who do not meet formal academic entry criteria may apply through the Work Route. This route recognises relevant professional experience in the field, or related industries as an alternative pathway into higher education. Some exceptions may apply for applicants with professional experience in other fields. This entry route ensures that motivated and experienced candidates can progress academically and professionally.
If English is not the first language, applicants must complete an approved free English language test that assesses reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Equivalent qualifications may also be accepted.
All applicants are required to attend an interview with a member of the admissions team as part of the selection process.
