Course Overview
The BSc (Hons) Cyber Security course is designed to equip students with the technical, analytical, and practical skills required to protect digital systems and networks from cyber threats. Delivered in partnership between QA Higher Education and Solent University, this programme focuses on the core areas of network and cyber security, ethical hacking, and digital forensics, preparing students to thrive in one of the fastest-growing sectors worldwide.
With cyber threats on the rise and the global average cost of a data breach reaching USD 4.45 million in 2023 (IBM, 2023), the demand for skilled professionals continues to grow. This course provides students with a strong foundation in the principles of cyber security and practical experience through industry-recognised certifications such as the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) “Introduction to Networks.”
Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of network infrastructure, risk management, and data protection while gaining hands-on experience in solving real-world cyber security challenges.

Applicants who do not meet formal academic entry criteria may apply through the Work Route. This route recognises relevant professional experience in the field, or related industries as an alternative pathway into higher education. Some exceptions may apply for applicants with professional experience in other fields. This entry route ensures that motivated and experienced candidates can progress academically and professionally.
If English is not the first language, applicants must complete an approved free English language test that assesses reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Equivalent qualifications may also be accepted.
All applicants are required to attend an interview with a member of the admissions team as part of the selection process.
